    They say that when you want to learn about something new, you should read a children’s book. In doing so, you can avoid being bombarded with so much information that you’ll surely lose interest, while obtaining a quick, simple introduction that will keep your interest piqued while satisfying some of that curiosity. If animal homes are what you are interested in, then the short book with the same title should do the trick.

  • Alphabet Hunts

    A very easy game to play with children that helps with so many different skills—from early literacy to fine and gross motor to communication and many others—alphabet hunts are a lot of fun to do.

    Alphabet hunts can be done indoors, but now that it’s summertime it’s a lot of fun to play the game outdoors. When you play outside, there is also the added bonus of being able to learn new vocabulary. You’re also not limited to your 1,200 (plus or minus) square feet, but wherever you go—from the park to the lake to your own back or front yard.

    Make up a sheet featuring the alphabet. It doesn’t have to be fancy; you don’t even have to type it up. Just write letters A through Z out on a single sheet of notebook paper with each letter spaced out so there is enough room to write next to each one.

  • Internet Meme: Pancake Bunny

    A Japanese photographer named Hironori Akutagawa had a pet rabbit named Oolong. In May of 1999 Akutagawa began to take pictures of Oolong and posted them to his Website. He also trained Oolong to balance a variety of objects on the rabbit's head. The photos really are charming; you can see Oolong playing outside, sleeping, and yes, balancing objects on his head. Oolong had regular excursions outdoors, and even liked to play in the snow.
